StudioAlpha invests in early stage startups in the software space and brings them TO San Franciseo.

Having worked in the software industry for more than 20 years, we see many parallels with the music industry of the 90s. This is why we call ourselves a ‘Studio’, as we view our role as that of producers. The term ‘Alpha’ represents you, the founding team, who are like a band aiming to create an outstanding demo tape to present to major record labels in the Silicon Valley.

We prefer founding teams of two or three personsEach of you can code. If you are alone 👨🏽‍🚀, don’t worry, we help you to find a co-founder.

Why

The big challenges in this world can only be solved by entrepreneurs.

How

We seek out the best founders and help them quickly gain a foothold in the Silicon Valley.

What

We invest in you and help you build a better product-market fit to grow quickly.

Core principles

Radical

must be the new normal. Nothing is sacred. The fear of being radical is a 20th century taboo.

Technology

must benefit people. The earth is a community, and the value of technological change must be measured by how it benefits or affects the entire human community 🫂.

Future

begins at the end of this sentence.  The challenges currently facing humanity started in the past and will be solved in the future.  We want the future to be as soon as possible.

Government

is an obsolete technology. Real change, the kind that will both save and transform our world, will come from entrepreneurial people across borders working together.

You

are not alone. StudioAlpha is a movement of former entrepreneurs who have come together because they believe in the mission of empowering radical change. Will you join us?

Values

We invest and empower young founders from all over the world ☮️ to transform their creative potential into thriving, innovative businesses that drive global change.

Our mission is to foster an ecosystem of independent thinking and action, where startups flourish, and international collaboration thrives. Together, we are building a brighter future where entrepreneurial spirit fuels creativity, freedom, and happiness.

Never give up

“I’m convinced that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance.” (🍏 Steve Jobs)

“The Company is not dead until the founders have given up” (Paul Graham)

think big or stay in bed

Don’t be afraid of destroying. “Creative Destruction,” which describes the process that sees new innovations replacing existing ones that are rendered obsolete over time. (Schumpeter, 1942)

Don’t #@!% the customer

Customers are our lifeblood. Without happy customers, we’re doomed. So considering the customer perspective – collectively, not just a handful – comes first. (Atlassian)

Play as a BAND

We spend a huge amount of our time at work. So the more that time doesn’t feel like “work,” the better. We can be serious, without taking ourselves too seriously. We strive to put what’s right for the team first – whether in a meeting room or in a band 🎸.

Sleep with one eye open

A startup’s capability to develop new categories of needs, or to innovate and adapt knowledge and technologies (as noted by Cohen & Levinthal; Bessant), is core. Key to this is the startup’s process of integrating, reconfiguring, acquiring, and releasing resources. These processes are essential not just for matching market changes but also for driving and creating them (David Teece).

The world in me

The success of a startup is a dependent variable, with its key independent variable being not the environment or the world, but the team itself. Thus, it is you, the team, who bears responsibility for both failure and success. It is in the team that we believe.
